"health care - the maintenance and improvement of physical and mental health, esp. through the provision of medical services.”
hmm, whaddaya know, abortion can help the pregnant person’s mental AND physical health.
Abortion focuses on ONE life while discarding, ending another life. THAT is why it is not true health care. It completely disregards one life in order to better/help another. True health care would be focusing on both lives and trying to save/help/better them both. Not kill someone to benefit another.
well it’s a damn shame that it’s not up to either of us to determine what’s ~*~*TRUE*~*~ healthcare or not, that would be a job for medical professionals
coincidentally, medical professionals have determined that abortion is an incredibly safe medical procedure that is, also coincidentally, legal! (at least here in the U.S). [x] [x] so yeah, I’d say that it counts as “”“true”“” healthcare.
I also like how you admit that while abortion can and does help the pregnant person, you don’t care because FETUS!! sorry, but the rights and well-being of an already-living, autonomous human being trump the rights of a nonfeeling, non-autonomous fetus.
Generally, the professionals in a, well, profession, are the ones who get to decide what is and what is not a part of that profession. And sorry, random tumblr person who is probably not medically trained; But if doctors say abortion is healthcare then it is healthcare.
In fact, the vast credible majority of the medical community in many countries agree that abortion is healthcare.
So I’m sorry but you can’t really say, “Well. I don’t care what the doctors, biologists, nurses, and other medical professionals think! My opinion is that it is not healthcare; so in conclusion, it cannot be healthcare because that is what I think.”
Sorry. It just doesn’t work that way.
